Nice version Hakan.

Let's not forget the original by Philly born Jimmy Smith.
I saw him play in small club in philly in 1987.

Damn Hakan, you're getting a big sound over there! I've being following you since 2010 and the progress is notable.

Anyway, I'd love to see you playing with a real band. Computers and backing tracks are OK, but music sounds better with humans. And your playing is great, but I think it could be exploted at its best in a real and dynamic musical context.

Good stuff.

I use the same "yodelay ee hoo" style turnaround at turnarounds, but you put a little flair trill to it.

Think I'll steal that if you don't mind.

Thank you!

That would have been cool, to watch Jimmy Smith play this tune live.

I recorded it with my BOSS BR-1200CD digital recording equipment. I have used it since 2006 and it's probably a little old-fashioned and slow (like myself) compared to a powerful computer with recording software but it does its job for me. It's a quite raw sound if I connect my harp mic directly into it, so I have a DIGITECH Vocal 300 vocal effects processor before the BOSS recording eqipment to be able to control bass, mid treble and gain better. I don't know if it's the best choise but it's good enough I think. To have the warm and fatter sound many people (around here at least) associate with blues harp, I had a LONE WOLF Octave box directly after the mic. That is a great box! Still it sounded wild so I evened the sound out with LONE WOLF Jason Ricci Flat Cat Optical compressor box after the Octave box before the Vocal 300. First I tried a mic with a 1949 black CR which is very strong. But I didn't like the recording sound, it was too aggressive, so instead I used a white CR from 1956 that is less powerful and with a darker sound. I also tried a mic with 99S556 element and a MC151 but the white CR sounded best with this equipment and settings.

Right now I am playing in a duo and I really like to play with the other guy. But it's hard work to get a gig and (almost) no pay. Someone said that you have to play ten shitty gigs to experience a good one. We will soon be there I hope.

Great work Hakan. Keep persevering with the duo gigs. I'm sure some of the people who hear you at "shitty" gigs may hire you for good ones.

Now that is a very pleasing amped tone, without an amp. I love that you keep showing us how to get this done without having to unearth Little Walter's original equipment. Well, you do use a vintage mic element, but still. And damn fine playing. I'll listen to your solo stuff from your kitchen, den, or anywhere else, any day, by the way.
