Came across this site and wondered if anyone has purchased any of the low end mics such as the robo hobo microphone only 25 pounds and i know you get what you pay for but was curious as a beginner

also i get a bit puzzled as to what make to get shaker with chrystal element or is there some with a dynamic element ?

in the uk i only ever come across the shure bullet and the shure 57/58 a local shop has the 57 for 80 odd pounds not sure whether to go for something with a volume control and a harp specific shell or something like the 57

i will be buying the vox mini 5 amp rhythm

any other uk options i could get ??

I bought a crystal palm mic from Honkin' Tom on eBay for £19.99. It was a cheap plastic piece of junk and I later found the exact same mic in Maplin listed as a lapel mic and priced at less than a fiver. It's now languishing in my 'bad buy' bin.

If you're after a half decent beginner's mic that won't break the bank the Superlux D112C is not a bad option for the money. I owned one for a while and it compared favourably with the modern Shure 520DX which is 2.5 times the price. Alternatively invest in something like a Shure SM57. Great mic for harp.
