Hi I am down loading backing tracks of I tunes onto my ipod to put through amp and copying tabs of harp tabs
I printed of bob Dylan blowing in the wind in key of c and found backing track on iTunes and thought I would give it a try on demo track before I bought it and it sounds awful I am at a stage where I can play along single note songs and keep time but this sounds totally of key together with my my harp and backing track , for those of you in uk who can remember les dawson comedian who used to play really badly a song on his piano it sounds like that
is it a matter of finding the right key harp to match the backing track ?? I find this a lot with backing tracks then again I only have a c sp 20 key harp
thanks mark

It is very common for harptabs to list the wrong key harp so that could be the issue. You could also be using a backing track that isn't in the same key as the original song. Finally, there are a LOT of really bad harp tabs on harptabs.com. Anybody can post a tab on that site so it's better to look at their tabs as a starting block to get you into the right section of the harmonica but not as a note for note rendition of the song.

ok thanks the tabs sound fine when I play it solo its when I play with backing track its not a case of the odd note no matter where I come in on song with backing track it sounds off
maybe its just a case of matching the keys up
I have to say I have found the harp tabs very useful and only found the odd song that dosent play well
