One of my goals in life is to do Statesboro Blues on the harp - every slide, every lick. It's gonna take me a lifetime. But that intro sounds so fun to do.

Not a surprise. If you listen very carefully to what a non slide player Albert King does in his classic Blues Power on the Live Wire Blues Power album, there are several phrases he plays that are actually heavily influenced by SBWII, which he himself has listed as an influence.

Duane's playing on "One way out", including the main riff, sounds to me like it was taken directly from Sonny Boys version.

Duaane Allman was the greatest harp player who ever played guitar.

Guitarists bend up to notes. Harp players bend down. Duane used to play dropping down with the slide. Listen to The Weight by Aretha Franklin. You'll understand where I'm coming from. The intro lays out perfectly for harp.

I guess that is true. His licks on the slide guit sure sound good on harmonica. Listen to kudzurunners "one way out" video. He sure capture Duane's feeling and sound. Here's a video me, tommy and a pal of mine did some time ago.... http://youtu.be/UhxkUvVaVUg tried to get the sound of that slide guitar...
