Hey guys,

I thought I'd post an original track from a old band I used to be in 1994, where the harmonica was an integral part of that band. It's rock harmonica I guess, or maybe you could think of that as modern blues harmonica (20 years old modern blues harmonica, that is, ahem) - hence the share.

Looking back I have mostly positive feelings about the playing, some parts I'm pretty happy about and some parts that leave me feeling that part of it was a little naive (for example for the 1st position solo is very light, I'd use 12th or a chromatic now and would take a different approach to the same solo - also the music dates a bit). Anyway, it was fun and was pretty cool to be integrated with the other instruments in a rock context. The band was successful for what it was too, radio play, won some money to record, made a video etc.

There is quite a lot of harp on this track. There was already plenty and then the engineer/producer asked me to improvise an electric harp solo on top of the guitar part at 2:50. I think that part worked out well. He also mixed some of the harmonica quite high, much to my delight - they were originally more in the background while the singing was going on. Excuse the not great quality... the DAT was lost and this was transferred from cassette, then to WAV and now it's compressed via whatever encoding YT uses.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Just a couple of notes on the harmonicas used:
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd position (A, A and G)
- The harps used are now out of production! I think they were Hohner Pro Harps (non-MS)

I thought the first position part was perfectly fine. I can hear the possibilities of chromatic in there, but it was just what the song needed. Very nice work!
