This video has been discussed on MBH but never embedded from what I could find. One excellent musician's POV. I love the subtleties including background photos.

Today's new age harp teachers can learn a lot from Jr's excellent old school teaching style :)

I love his 'how not to bend' warning.
No question that his vocals were a huge part of his success. The 'coming from the heart' message is what I felt. When someone you respect says you got chops you are on your way. When someone you respect says you should be cooking the chops you are also on your way. No matter. You decide!

Despite the initial impression that this is 45 minutes of incoherent rambling confusion, there are actually some nuggets of insight buried within the video. Whether they're sufficient reward for the investment required to discover and interpret them, probably depends on the perspective of the viewer. I am not yet ready to watch it a second time, and I'm not sure I ever will, but I'm glad I put the time in to watch it the first time around...

I saw it for free on YT. If I had bought the DVD I might be pissed off. I've made bad purchases and witnessed failed projects. I found this lesson when I needed to give him his due props for providing background on a happy moment.
And this is why he has my respect.

I bought my own copy. No skin off my nose if there's one at the library too.
