New Report from HarmoniCollege Research and Development
Statistics of class attendance have been calculated to rate the classes at the highly successful HarmoniCollege 3, 2014 in Huntington, WV. These statistics compare the number of student-hours taught by Todd Parrott and Jim Rumbaugh. “Student hours” are calculated by counting the number of students each hour during each of the 7 hour-long classes.
Todd Parrott had 13 students for 7 classes for a total of 91 student hours Jim Rumbaugh had a total of 2 students for 2 hours or 4 students hours.
The HarmoniCollege Research and Development has drawn 2 conclusions. 1) Jim Rumbaugh will now be known as “chopped liver” 2) Todd Parrott is better than chopped liver

Add a lot of onions and green peppers and chopped liver is ---well----purty good! You've out done yourself again JIm (and all WVA. club members). What a great time! This is not only one of the most fun events, but for me, the most interesting and educational opportunities to grow in my playing ability. Heritage farms is a beautiful authentic venue and those lovely ladies sure can cook!!! Hope you will invite me back! ---------- And I Thank You !! KCz Backwoodz Bluz

You put together a great harmonica event in a beautiful setting with Todd Parrot and TJ Klay teaching and playing.
I think that prior to event you probably expected that most of the students, most of the time, would go to their classes. It was not because you and your classes are chopped liver, but because you brought in great outside talent for the special event, and people wanted to see them teach and play.
Your classes that I attended last year on position playing were well organized and taught, and had good handouts. You can play, too!
You just brought in good teacher/players that drew most of the crowd, myself included.
HarmoniCollege 3 was in a beautiful setting, with a warm welcome from the club, home cooked food provided, with reasonable rates for lodging and lessons. The event had a great group of harmonica enthusiast in attendance and the club brought supportive local band members for the jams.
I want to thank you and the members of the Harmonica Club of West Virginia for a great weekend, and also thank the Buckeye Harmonica Club of Columbus Ohio, who offered assistance to the Huntington club. Todd and TJ provided great instruction and wonderful music. Please thank the band, too! ----------

Don't sell yourself short, Jim. This was one of the coolest harp events I've attended, and it wouldn't have been possible without you. You did a great job with the entire event, and I don't think I've had as much fun in any other circle jams as I did at Harmonicollege. The facilities and food were awesome, everyone was so friendly, and you, Jim, are a GREAT musician and host. I was really impressed with the overall event.
If any of you reading this are within driving distance of Huntington, WV, I would highly recommend that you attend Jim's Harmonicollege event next year. You won't be disappointed!

Thanks Todd, and thanks everybody
Perhaps I should have put a "smiley face" at the end of my first post???
Believe me, I was not selling myself short.
I just wanted to find a way to say "Todd Parrott is better than chopped liver" :)
Actually, everything went the way I hoped it would. I was hoping most would attend Todd's class so "I" could attend them too, and I did. I have had better feedback from this year than the previous 2 years. I give most of the credit to Todd and TJ. And... I know I did my part as well as the gang from The Harmonica Club. This year was an overall success.
Plans are already shaping up for HarmoniCollege IV.

--I want to throw my 2 cents in about T.J. Klay's harp playing. I was completely impressed. His work out of the rack is top notch. How he gets that tone, overblows, and riff playing from the rack is unbelievable. His single note guitar playing and harp, each playing the same note is remarkable. thanks again Jim, hope to get my Ohio harp friends there next year. We are really missing out, being that close, at that price, for all you offer. For $75. per night my room in a vintage log cabin, was at least 30' long and 20' wide, with a personal bath. All that located on a classical village. Wow! I can't say enough about the whole week end !!! ---------- And I Thank You !! KCz Backwoodz Bluz
