Unable to add this to my previous post, so here it is in a new one.
I am part of Winslow Yerxa's first Bunch O' Guys project and this is a video of our first performance.
It is an ensemble, so enjoy Michalek, Gruenling, Winslow (mastermind and arranger), Filisko and myself.
Although my solo part is brief within the total scope, I really enjoyed the ensemble playing and how the parts were worked out.
I remember how we all showed up at SPAH for rehearsal with everyone knowing their parts except for Chris, who for some reason figured he would learn it during rehearsal. I also remember standing next to Chris at rehearsal and playing his part for him to help as he tried to learn it, which was the beginning of his animosity towards me (which at one time was quite the rage on the "L" and the internet, but that is ancient history now).
Even though my solos are short, it was once again a decent example of how I never memorize cut/paste style, but rather enjoyed playing "in the moment", which kept the sound and ideas fresh for me as an improvisor.
My ensemble work with Winslow starts around 2 minute mark...unscripted solo at about 7 min 30 sec.

Thoroughly enjoyed that Larry. You bring a lot of feeling and tech into it all. Nice. You totally do sound in the moment. btw, on the post on your website, that is a G harp?
I also agree that del Junco really brings something very new and exciting to the instrument although I lack the ability to get my head around it (most all jazz actually) well enough to follow it decently unfortunately. It's intimidating what he is capable of. Can he play "simple" too I wonder? I would like to hear him play a slow blues or similar.

Larry always had it together when he was with the Bunch O' Guys (an informal tag that quickly became our name). He came up with polished, to-the-point solos and always played his ensemble parts well.
Chris sometimes played an entire line a semitone away from where it should have been, giving the harmony a strange cast. But he was often brilliant as a soloist. He was fearless and cavalier, qualities that sometimes led him to do amazing things, and other times were suboptimal.
Someone put a few of these 1998-ish clips on YouTube a few months back, and hearing them again after 15 years or so, I wish we'd had better intonation and rhythmic cohesion. Those things happened in later incarnation of the Bunch with Michael Peloquin and Damien Masterson in the group, both of whom double on sax and know how to play in sections. You can hear the difference in this clip of the San Francisco Harmonica Ensemble (L-R: Steve Malerbi on bass, me, Michael, Damien) playing Stevie Wonder's "I Wish" at the 2009 West Coast Jazz Harmonica Summit:
