Sounds like first position on a G harp to me, but I am often wrong about these things.

Great showmanship.

His solo starts about 4:30 in.

The tune is in the key of A and in the opening, he's playing a D in 2nd position and then later, a key of A in first position.

Nope-its in the key of G-it's Kims newest version on the "Trust My Baby" theme-First harp is 2nd position in the key of C-the second harp is 1st position in the key of G-

I initially assumed he used two harps, but darn if I can see where he switches, which made me wonder if the entire solo was in first position. Plus the low notes sound too low to my (admittedly poorly trained) ear to be a C harp in second, which again made me think it was a G harp in 1st all along.

But I am prepared to be wrong. Just like the performance and wondered how he did that.

Kim switches from the C to G harp at 18 seconds in to the video-puts the C harp into his right pocket and pulls the G out of his left-

That high-ended first position playing was pretty neat for the first 30 seconds or so, after that it just started to annoy my ears.
