Back in 2010, I bought my first delay pedal, a Lone Wolf V2 - still have it. After that, I tried out different set ups for a few years, just at home. This is after playing acoustic, just at home and jams, for 30 years. I was going for this sound:

Eventually, I got a stick mic - SM57, and liked the sound but it took a while to work out the set up. Around the same time, I saw this video of Billy Branch explaining his rig - he only uses a delay and an octave pedal. He says in the video that he asked Lee Oskar what his set up was, and then Billy just did the same thing Lee did - delay and octave:

I finally got my tone dialed in with the SM57 and V2, so I tried a few cheap pedals, like a Fender reverb pedal. But, I should have just done what Billy and Lee are doing because I was never satisfied with the sound. I'm finally going to get a Lone Wolf Octave pedal. I feel like I've come full circle - I could have gotten the V2 and the Octave on day one. But, I guess it was about the journey, so many of which come full circle.

Also, I would like to announce publicly that I'm a tone addict like so many others. And recently, I finally got my first electric guitar, so here we go again.

PS: Could not have done it without MBHF - wail on!

@1847 All the guitar pedals I've tried - delay's and trem's and whatnot - all sound muddy to me. I think I'm definitely part of the Lone Wolf generation. I don't actually want to use a couple of Boss pedals like Billy. I love what I hear in the LW Octave demos, so I'm looking forward to the sound. What I want is the crackle, clipping, and added harmonics. Plus, I use a V2 which is designed to preserve high end, so it will be an intense combo.

@1847 It's going to be Christmas in July when I get it. Especially because I have to save up to July to buy it, haha.
