Guys, if you can, get yourself one of these.
I've had mine about a month but only yesterday I had a musician friend come round to jam on a few numbers.
I fiddled with the settings before he arrived and found something I really liked and used those settings throughout the session.
I had also taken my Fender Bassman 59 Reissue out of the wardrobe where it spends nearly all of it's time to do a direct comparison. Just to explain why it's not used very often, I simply play though the PA at the studio where I practice with the band and it saves me having to transport it.
Well sadly, I have to report, I have just sold the Bassman as I feel it doesn't do what I'm after. Compared to the VHT it sounds way too bright for my liking and the tremelo + reverb and other features like the 9v outlet to run pedals on the VHT outweigh the beefy Fender.
It's easily transported, at around 15kg and I can change speaker cabs if I want at any time.
I also won't be using my crystal element fitted mic any more. I tried my SM58 and the combination was fantastic. You have a foot switch provided with the VHT, so volume control is taken care of anyway.
Well that's my rave, and I'll continue to rave about the head until I change my mind, um head?
