HI I completed almost 4 years playing the Blues HArmonica. HAve learnt a lot from this forum. This is my attempt at playing Juke. I am using a backing track from Shoblues. HAve played it on a Seydel 1847 Classic.
Somehow I cant seem to slow down and most of the time i find my self rushing and would have ideally played it a little slower. :) Still learning. Will appreciate whatever inputs good/bad that I can help me grow! —————

Pretty nice playin there Slewis. Don't really hear a lot of rushing going on. I'd say you are doing way more things right then wrong. Most important to me at least, is that you have a good feel for the music. If you can play unfamiliar music with a good flow as you have here, you are well on your way. Exceptional for 4 years. Just keep playin bro...BN

Yeah, pretty darn good tone and groove IMO. As I don't use my hands much, I notice your movements. I often find them distracting for a number of players and wonder how much is showmanship and how much is technical enhancing of sound. What is the story of what you think per how much is each Slewis? Do your hands distract? Not for me. They totally gave me the impression of a relaxed and rhythmic feel for the playing. I really like your movements but just wondering as to how much is technical? I look at a lot of other players, Jason for instance, and find his hands seemingly very involved in his sound although maybe some of it is showmanship - I don't know. I very much like what Jason does for his sound enhancement (tends to be very signature of him) but not sure if it mostly originates from his mouth or hands mostly. Anyone know if he has done a video explaining it well?

Hi Dennis..I Play by ear. I mostly play lip pursing, actually more from the throat…I also do a little TB, like in this video, just a little..
@Shaganappi, abt the hands don't know..It wasn't done consciously ! i think it does add variations? ----------

Congrats Slewis on becoming the newest member of the learning to play JUKE and putting it on youtube club. It should be mandatory for every harmonica player in the world to put their interpretation of JUKE on the worldwide web...The invaluable lessons awaiting to be extracted from that one song are incredible. You did the tune proud, I enjoyed how you played it :)

Very awesome Slewis!
Frank: Your comment might have just inspired me to begin working on joining the "learning to play JUKE and putting it on youtube" club. Look out MBH world... you may have my version thrust upon you sometime soon! You've been warned. :)
