Interpreted broadly, this thread might include guitar players whom blues harmonica players could steal ideas from.
In that line: Larry Carlton and BB King for blue notes, Stevie Ray for deep groove, Albert Collins for explosive power.

second on Alex Schultz...he very rarely plays full chords on the guitar, preferring to play two or three note chords and/or little lines. ---------- The Iceman

@Timesight -- I'd also add to that list the following:
Eddie Taylor Troy Gonyea Junior Watson Charlie Baty Luther Tucker
What Alex Schultz is doing is essentially more out of the Tiny Grimes school of playing , as he used a 4 string guitar most of the time. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

Here's Bill Jenning's Long Way From St. Louis. Listen to this and then listen to Gary Primich's version of this tune and you'll notice that Gary plays the Bill Jennings guitar solo pretty close to note for note. Bill was a very inflential jump blues guitar player and he most certainly has influenced me.
