It's nice when someone, totally unknown to you, from a town 100 kilometres away, gives you a call and asks if you can play at a paid gig with them.
A female blues singer/piano player rang yesterday and requested I play the whole gig with her. Just one rehearsal and into it.
Just so happens though, that my band is doing a promo vid on the same day ( Easter Saturday ) so I can't do it anyway, but great to be asked.
It's taken me a long time to get to a point where all my years of hard work have finally paid off and I can snuggle up to my kudos.

No orphan, it's just too far away and I've got enough to do with my existing band. Maybe I should keep her phone number though :)

I agree. Things change, bands break-up, people move on.
Its good to know other musicians respect your work. Glad things are going good for you and your bandmates. It is not always easy to get the right chemistry. But it really shows when a band has it going on.

I'm in Urunga in NSW Australia and the gig is in Port Macquarie, about 100k south. The gig is on the Saturday of the Easter weekend.

I get that same request. From everyone in the house.
Sometimes they request "Close the Door" but I have not learned that one yet.
