I was stationed with one of those guys when I was in the AF. We were both at Pease AFB, NH in the Air Police Sq., late 1966 early 1967 I can't remember his name.

Guitar/singer/harpist is Roky Erickson, whose band, the 13th Floor Elevators, coined the term "psychedelic rock" in the 1960s. Targeted for his advocacy of pharmaceuticals, Erickson was busted for possession of a single joint in 1969 and spent three years in an institute for the criminally insane.
There is a documentary on him called "You're Gonna Miss Me"
