With Jimmy Rogers, Speakeasy, Cambridge, MA 1977 photo BarbequeBobwithJimmyRogers1977.jpg

This was taken in 1977 at the now long defunct club called The Speakeasy in Cambridge, MA and I was all of 22 years old back then. That same year, my last gig with him was a week before he went into a studio in CT to record with Muddy Waters and Big Walter Horton for the I'm Ready LP that came out on JOhnny Winter's Blue Sky label, which was a subsidiary label of Columbia Records.

Bob - Nice pic. Jimmy was one of the most soulful singers and players around. I miss him. The scene is less vibrant with his absence.

@tmf714 -- I have no idea if that studio is still there or not, but I'll try to find out. My guess is that it's long gone, tho.

@blueswannabe -- The amp I had at the time was a real '65 Super Reverb that I bought earlier that year from a guy who had bought it brand new in '65. I sold that amp for the price I paid for it back then ($300) in 1983 so I could get the amp that I still use to this day, a real '59 Bassman (which, with a silver faced tube reverb thrown in the deal, for a grand total of $425), which had I been able to afford to keep it back then, I would've made a freaking killing on the vintage market today.

Thanks everybody. Great memories of working with a legend, but I still wish I had a tape recorder with me because of all the funny stories he had about the old blues men, most of which I've forgotten.
