Liked that a lot Rogonzab. Remind me of your setup because you make a good noise. Is it your Bugera amp and the bullet mic you bought? Which element?

Thxs tookatooka!

I am playing whit a Epiphone Valve Jr that I found cheap (really really cheap), and my usual mic. This is the setup:

Amp: Epiphone Valve Jr (Stock)
Mic: Universal 312 w/ Shure CM 99B86
Harp: Suzuki BluesMaster
Behringer Xenyx 302usb
Cheap vocal mic

Sounds like you're doing really well. My only suggestion is to be careful not to rush! You got ahead a number of times. You have to always listen - easier said than done!

Rogonzab,

I think that sounds really good, as you keep playing it, over time, it will get more fluent, it will flow just like the name. I just started working on the same song, and your where I would like to be, makes me want to start all over again, and re-think some things. How long have you been playing?

Pretty sweet tone. I have my own approach which is what I always expect to hear , so i appreciated some of the things you did with timing which surprised me, and made me think a little differently. You have a lighter approach than me and I like it.
I really love the way Walter ends the song. I dunno if it can be bettered, but of course you can do how you like.
I thought when you started, wow! Listen to that beautiful light fluttering vibrato. But then you stopped doing it...which is fine, but I enjoyed it while it lasted.
I do like your tone . In the section with the bent notes, there was one in particular I thought clanged...but maybe it just wasn't what I expected.

Nice one Rogonzab. I'm supposed to be learning this so it's great to hear another version to aspire to.

Agree with others that I love the sound you have, and the light touch. I've been listening to all sorts of interpretations of Easy and quite often people seem to be going for a great big stomping sound.

I like the dippy vibrato you apply at 42s to the 3D. How are you doing that?

I'm interested in your playing around with the timing, e.g. the descent at around 2m20s that sounded lovely.

Forgive the semi-forensic analysis :-) Do you ascribe your sound to that particular choice of mic or amp, or do you sound the same through anything?

Oh, just noticed you are using the valve jr.
Do you know which version it is?

Greg, oh yes, the "timing" is my nemesis...

Bass410man, a litle more than 3 years.

SuperBee, yes that ending is perfect, but is so perfect that if I play it just right, it would be a pale shadow of the original.

Is the V3.

MindTheGap, just the throath (I think).

Wow, that is a big question.
No, I dont sound the same always. The amp make a diference (size of the speaker, tubes or ss, gain structure and so on), I had work on my cup technique for several month, and that really improve your amped tone. I need to work in my acustic tone now.
When I play in my jam I use a Fender Frontman 25r, and the sounds is diferent, but if you listening a good player, you can hear a good cup (I am not saying that I am a good player) and if you listening a newer amplified player you can hear the bad cup.

This is a great song to learn, because is so simple that you can focus on the details that make this song work.

Thxs to all for your kind coments!, this is very important to me.

I thought you sounded great. I hope I sound like that after 3 years of playing. Not likely though. Good work.

Yes, that makes sense. the v3 is the best sounding of the valve juniors, in stock form. I have a stock v 2 which is nowhere near as good as the sound you are getting. I liked the v3 much more. The v3 has a decent speaker and OT is a better match. It may run the power tube rather hot, but they all do that.

Very good and nice gritty sound!

For me, it reminds me sometimes of Charlie Musselwhite records from the 60s.
