I love this guy. I stumbled onto this one the other day. I wish there was more footage of him doing this kind of stuff. Although... I haven't spent a lot of time watching Madcat and Kane footage. Maybe that's something I need to explore.

Anywho, I especially love the third harmonica solo that starts around 4:05. Him switching into 1st position reminds me that I really should learn to play 1st position blues. So cool...

Also... That is kind of a fun angle to watch harp players from. Very informative.

That is an understatement, Madcat is amazing. You have to listen to him on his Tripple Play "Watching the World" album.
Listen to the samples here:

You get a taste of Madcat in "Lady Luck Gone South", but these samples don't play long enough to here all of his amazing playing.

I just saw Madcat for the third time last saturday night in Kalamazoo MI. Each time I see him I am amazed. I got a chance to talk to him briefly between sets. He offered to let me sit in sometime "when I get good enough," we both knew he was just joking, but still a friendly guy.

The first time i saw him he did a show in the town where I live with Jimmy Dillon from Holland MI. They blew the roof off the place and I would guess that less than 40 people were there in a 1300 seat venue. An amazing, almost private show.

I think he's a great talent and he definitely influenced my decision to give the harmonica a try.

Nice Jerry! I went to college in Holland Michigan. I understand he plays in that area a lot. I hope I didn't miss seeing him while I was there. I already missed seeing him once... A friend of mine told me he played with Triple Play in my little hometown of Baraboo Wisconsin several years ago. Unfortunately, I was not in attendance. I was probably pretty young at the time and not particularly interested in harmonica. You can bet that if I was there I would have GOTTEN interested!
