Interesting,it just hit me that the "Bo Diddley" beat is built on the same rhythmic figure as many Afro-Cuban tunes, the so-called 3-2 clave rhythm.
Think "Bo Diddley, Bo Diddley have you heard: Bop-Bop-Bop (um) Bop-Bop...."
