I sit in with various blues and roots bands around town and always play through the house P.A. Currently I'm using a Shure 57 mic but I'm looking for a mic that would give me a dirtier "Chicago" sound while having a XLR output. No impedance adapters needed.

Does a mic like that exist? Any recommendations please?

Not really. You can set a PA channel to create clipping which will give you some dirt, but I suspect not quite in the way you're looking for. I'd say is your best bet, would be to use a Lone Wolf Harp Attack and a DI box. You would need an impedance converter though as your using an SM57. You could however get a Shure 545SD set it for high impedance and then use an XLR to jack into the pedal, a small patch lead to the DI box and then your normal XLR to XLR lead from the DI to the PA. The Harp Attack will give you a valve sound and as much dirt as you could ever need.

Thanks Kingley. What role does the DI box play in the setup you describe?

You're more than welcome. The DI box makes sure that the PA sees a correct low impedance signal. Not always necessary with some PA systems, as you can often use the line level jack input. Although some PA systems don't play nice with pedals and prefer a low impedance signal. Hence the use of a DI box. If you go that route I'd suggest getting a DI box with a -dB switch as this can also help to attenuate the signal if needed. I use a SoundLab one. It's not to hand at the moment, but I think it's a SoundLab DI100.

Kingley is right - can't get a pleasing dirty sound from a PA without the help of a tube pre.

Check with Randy at Lone Wolf - he has been considering a Harp Attack with low impedance in and out specifically for this reason. Then you wouldn't need an IMT on the way in and DI box on the way out.

What about those tube preamps like the ones made by Art? They've got both XLR low impedance and 1/4 tip sleeve jack inputs and outputs and can work as a DI/.impedance matcher as well.
I used to use a Behringer one which is basically a copy of the Art ones, just a bit cheaper, for running any mic into a self powered speaker or a PA.
If Mr Lone Wolf Landry is making one though, that would probably be the best bet.

I should have added:

You CAN get a dirty sound from a mic with XLR. The connector and the impedance have NOTHING to do with the tone.
