Hi all,

Is it possible to raise the standard pitch of a reed a whole step? I am looking to test out paddy richter tuning on a standard C harp.

Is it possible to raise the 3b from G to A?

Yep, you can definately tune the reed up, it shouldn't be necessary to change the reed or anything like that.

Is there an alternate way to filing existing metal off the tip?

That seems kind of permanent and only want to trial this tuning.

Not really. When you lower the pitch you have more options. You could tune the reed up, and if you decide you want to change it back, you could use some Blu-tack to lower the pitch back down without having to file the reed again. And if you want to switch back to paddy richter, you just pull off the Blu- tack.
