4 guys auditioned for the 4th in a pretty good local Blues/ Blues rock band. I am kind of a jack of all trades- mainly a drummer /percussionist- but can sing, play some blues guitar and decent crossharp.
I did a little of all of that but they really seemed to like my harp. Later on , after the band meeting and letting me know I was in - the leader said the reason was because " he didn't really notice me and the other guys did"
Its interesting that they all felt the harp added more feel than the keyboard they used to use
Moral of the story--know how to blend with the band - fill the holes that need filling - and stay quiet when there aint space for you.
I used his blues junior and it didnt sound bad- I cut the fat switch-turned up the bass, cut mids and highs and put verb about a third up. Used my old shure commando on a stand
