I don't know what it is about it, but whenever I hear dj's scratching and remixing blues harp licks it completely knocks me out. Maybe it's cause of the bend notes and how they sound when they get cut off and restarted rhythmically. Whatever it is I think our little instrument sounds amazing used in this capacity. In an earlier thread forum member LSC put up a scarecrow video using the scratch sound but check out this song featured in a DR Pepper add featuring the band C2C (full song). Sounds like the dude remixing it really knows harp the way he times the phrases and mixes both amplified and acoustic tones together almost like DeLay did organically. Fuckin Massive! Anyone know of any others? I hope someone someday scratch's with a Moon Cat's samples. M, M, M, me me OW!

I love it, too. Remember Gorillaz? Damon Albarn would sneak in harp:

@Boris That is awesome! Another thing I'm going to steal from you! :) PS: You really need to come to LA and record and do sessions - I think you would be the best in the city.

It takes a very open minded artist to accept that level of adjustment to their creations. If Jackson Pollock could have hopped into the wayback machine with a few cans of High Gloss Glidden, I wonder if Rembrandt would have been quite so welcoming?
Regardless, you can't deny it. C2C sounds gooood.

I like Boris' approach.

@Boris: Does the organ sound come from the same gadget as the pitch shifter?
What´s the name of it?

Thanks, really interesting.

It's the same tool. It's line6 pod HD desktop version. Not the perfect tool, but very useful, now I use it in parallel loop.

Actually this one is recoded completely with line6 pod hd (except acoustic intro and beatbox)

You play with such LIFE Boris. Thanks for the post. Btw, I have tabbed and placed a portion of your "Boris' Blues" on my Tabs web page for a great example. Great articulation and melody.
