This is not without risks, even though Steve Baker seems to be dazzled...As for me, I'm not sure I like this (improvised) tune.
The wonderful is that this guy plays only for two years at the time of the video and at least, there is no lack of inventiveness. Should we call that "melodic" or "harmonic"
Blues, or maybe it's not really Blues?
If blues harp had to be like this, I suppose I'd prefer other styles of music.

Very corny lines this cat's playing, but, see, he's playing in F# on a C harp, and that's what's supposed to make this so important or something.

The tone, the vibrato…make it bloody stop.

This is what blues would sound like if it was in a Broadway musical. Cue the strings.

Well no, I think the fact he could play so fluently after just 2 years is why it's considered noteworthy. I think the F# in a C harp note is by way of an apology for sounding rather out of tune. He says his harp was so out of tune they played f#, so he was probably rather sharp rather than be flat. Did sound a bit like Donald Duck morphing into Sylvester, and definitely not breaking new ground, but PDG for a 2 year veteran with an out of tune harp

Konstantin Reinfeld is a very good player. He's not really a blues player. Well at least not in the sense that most of you guys think of blues. Konstantin tends to play more jazz than anything else from the stuff I've heard. In that clip above I think he was about sixteen. I think Konstantin has a great future in the jazz world.

Perhaps Konstantin will comment himself, as he is a forum member too...

He's certainly a talented player and from the Howard Levy school. I'm not surprised that his chromatic style offends sensibilities here.

-- Would someone please get this man an expensive customized bullet mic to get that gritty "Chicago" tone? And let him know where he can get a vintage tube amp. Jeez.

Slaphappy: thanks...I didn't check before posting.
KingoBad: I'm not surprised at hearing about H.Levy here!
