Groyster, that's a given.

I would have said Bruce Willis all day long until I started watching some videos of them both for a fair judgement. I think Willis is tighter, but Aykroyd seems go more out on a limb. I would say John McClane is my pick. Elwood can get a bit Popper-ish and though I respect the taste out of him, I'm not a fan.

Wow - who is the better guitar player Kevin Costner or Steven Seagal?

All actors who you would never have heard from musically if they were not already famous

My favorite is Billy Bob Thornton, who uses his movie success to get gigs and attention for his band, and then gets pissed off when interviewers bring up his movie career.

Mirco, that is not at all fair about Billy Bob Thornton. He was a gigging/touring musician for many years before he even went to Hollywood, and he is an excellent songwriter.

If Bruce Willis and Dan Aykroyd had a harmonica playing baby who would it be?

Really? Is that really true about Billy Bob Thornton?
Maybe I better google his bio and check it out.
Is he a blues cat? Maybe he plays harp? Maybe he's better than Dan Aykroyd?

He was a drummer and singer for years in Arkansas. His book "The Billy Bob Tapes" is great.

Thanks, scojo. Actually, I sincerely appreciate Billy Bob's talent, but I do think that he does use his Hollywood success to prop up his music career.

It turns out they have Billy Bob's book at my local library. I was reading the excerpts from amazon this afternoon. It looks like a great book.

Have you ever read Levon Helm's book, "This Wheel's On Fire"? the story of The Band?

I loved that book. He's a great storyteller.

@mirco -- that's fair. I was just (perhaps excessively) responding to the idea that he was an actor who decided to try his hand at music. In retrospect, that's not really what you said.

@CWinter -- glad you like the book. It's pretty entertaining, probably at least in part due to the fact that Kinky Friedman helped him write it. Yes, I have read "This Wheel's On Fire" many times and love it, although it always leaves me sad, too. I sort of feel like his version of the Robbie Robertson rift, while probably mostly true, might be a little over the top in some respects. And even if not, it still makes me sad because I appreciate both of them (as well as the other three original members).
