Not heard of Paul before. He is a pretty good player. I wonder if those are the Shoblues backing tracks he's using or Mark Mumeas. I suspect they are the ones from Mark.

I vote the "very good, really good" category, as in, maybe not in the "absolutely great" category, but better probably than most. Precise notes, Tone to die for - for those who love that fat, musky amplified tone, some of the bends are a wee bit flat - to my ear, in the pocket groove, great feel. Good'onya mate.

This is very expressive playing. I agree that some of the bends are flat, but I suspect they are deliberately so, and contribute to the interpretation of the piece. Play along with the Little Walter recording and you will notice that he is pulling a lot of pitches down, almost into the realm of quarter-tones. Like timing and tone, pitch is another parameter that can be altered creatively, but within certain parameters. I think he used pitch well in this recording.

Little Walter may very well be.... the GREATEST "harmonica teacher" ever to date - That song is easily one of the best teaching / learning models ever created to help a student progress as a harmonica player :) ---------- The Centipide Saloon Tip Your Waiter Please
