Todd Parrott has announced his 7 classes to be taught at HarmoniColege 3 on April 26th in Huntington, WV at Heritage Farms.

1. Country style playing
2. Overblows, and how to incorporate them into your playing
3. Position playing - choosing the best position for a particular song or style, and sharing some new ideas for 3rd position
4. Accompaniment playing - when, when not, and what to play
5. Chords, and choosing notes that compliment the changes - which notes work, which notes don't, and understanding why.
6. Phrasing - learning to listen and emulate the phrasing of other instruments, as well as singers.
7. Riffs and rhythms

Here is a youtube link to Todd playing the blues.

Cost for the classes is $50, which includes meals. Overnight lodging is available for an additional $150 down to $50. For more details go to hhcwv.com or theharmonicaclub.com and click on the HarmoniCollege link.

I am really looking forward to HarmoniCollege 3!

Last year was a lot of fun, and made me sorry I had missed the first year with David Payne and Pat Missin.

At HarmoniCollege 2 I enjoyed Charlie Barath's and your classes. I finally met Danny G. I had a lot of fun at the Friday and Saturday evening jams. They are friendly jams and encourage players of all levels to express themselves without fear of head cutting. The setting, the down home lodging, and the hospitality of your club members made for a warm comfortable harmonica event.

The price is really good for two night's lodging, food provided by your club from Friday evening to Sunday morning, two evening jams, and a full day of good classes.

I have heard Todd Parrott play at SPAHs and at HCH, and I was in a workshop he ran at HCH3. I really enjoy his playing and instruction, and the classes listed by you sound great.

It is a reasonable distance and a scenic drive from Illinois to Huntington, WV. I'll see you soon!

I second Doug's feelings about the friendly folks at the Huntington Harmonica Club. They were extremely welcoming at the Diamond Teeth Mary festival a few years ago.I've managed to miss the first two,but I'm making this one.

Saturday night jam from about 7 to 11, give or take.
$50 covers classes and food. You pay more to sleep there. It's more fun if you sleep there.
