Hej there, friends. Long time no speak. I'm after a wee chromatic harmonica. Any recommendations on what to get and where to get it?

Hohner Super Chromonica 270 Deluxe. If you're in the UK then www.harmonicas-direct.com, if you're in the States then Rockin' Rons.

Dirty Deck, I would recommend the Seydel DeLuxe. They have acrylic combs, screwed on reed plates, set screws for easy and quick disassembly, an abundance of spare parts, and come in a lot of keys.
I have a fairly good selection of new and used ones. I would also suggest the Bebop tuning which has some advantages over standard Solo tuning.
If "wee" is the operative word here, the old Hohner 260s are pretty cool, too. I prefer the pre-Wars but a lot of them are actually slide-harps that are tuned like a standard diatonic.
Not taking away from my good friend Rockin' Ron who has a great selection and good service by the way! ---------- Greg Jones 16:23 Custom Harmonicas greg@1623customharmonicas.com 1623customharmonicas.com

God, they're dear. Thanks for the feedback, fellas. I'm based out of Northern Ireland so I reckon I'll go with ehh Direct, though I'll be sure to check out your stuff in future, Greg, cheers.

I used to have- actually learned my first 3rd position song- on a Hohner Chrometta 8. It's an 8 hole chromatic, big holes, easy to make sound. Personally I'd avoid the 270. Too leaky. In fact if you want one for postage, contact me. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

Hohner Discovery 48. Very well designed, reliable and functional chromatic for the money.
