Hi guys I'm new here, just received used 64, the slide was stuck and the slide itself has grooves in it. I can remove the mouthpiece and clean etc. but what about the slide grooves.... Thank you

Ampeg, I believe the Hohner C store has both styles available whether you have a straight or cross tuned version. I'd look closely at the other parts to see why the slide grooved.
I just got mine a few weeks ago. New enough to have the plastic comb, but not the black comb. Took a lot of cleaning, but it plays very well now! I'm lovin churnin out some George Smith sounding stuff with it.

I'd say your best bet would be to ask this question over on slidemeister.com, those guys over there are the experts when it comes to the chromatic. Other than that Winslow, BBQ Bob or Diggs might be able to help.

If it's one with the wood comb, the numbering of the holes on the top cover plate would be from 1-16 and it would be straight tuned like a 270 or any chromatic by Hering, you cannot get parts for it in the US thru Hohner and Hohner in Europe won't sell those parts in the US at all, which sucks.
Before I can tell you anything about those grooves, I need to know exactly which type you have. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

I agree with Kingley. Slidemeister.com You can learn so much just by reading the posts. It's divided into sections and they have a repair section.
