One of our local videographers shot this of Nic and Brad (and the Fat Cats) at IBC. Nice stuff... And check out the choreography :)

Nic's singing has come a long way. He started singing only a couple years ago. He's added some style.

Nic is 18. Alec the drummer (Brad's little brother) is 19, Brad is 22. Bill Shannon on bass is the old timer at about 30. They have room to grow.

I knew these guys were GOOD - but this really shows they are striving to be the whole package, that was well done...GREAT performance, I felt entertained - there is no where but UP for these Cats, hope they continue playing the blues and win that competition down the line :)

it's all a bit too cheesy for me. a guy like rick estrin can pull off cheese, but it aint easy. these guys need to find an contemporary youthful and authentic vibe if they're going to progress, imho

Jinx, it's the finals of the IBC. Have you ever been there? Cheese is what works.

In their regular club shows there is none of the over-the-top choreography.

I think the music, the choreography, and the vocals all add up to a very audience friendly package. I also think that such a package requires an earnest professionalism which I respect. After seeing/hearing all the solos that Nick has been doing with his monster tone it is great to hear him and his bandmates in a more expansive musicality, i.e the whole package put together!

I got to see them twice while in Memphis. Both shows were great. I did not see them at the finals, but that kind of grand standing is pretty much standard at the finals. It's as much about glitz as it is about musicianship (maybe more so).

Here is a cut from their new album. It is "live in the studio"... all in one take. Nic borrowed my Mission Delta Sonic amp for this session.

This album was released right before IBC.

Yeah Baby them guys are razor sharp.Blind Owl had that boogie riff like a stallion in gallop, hard to get away with the endless boogie without john lee hooker.Down the line they can hire a hip shaker, denvers got plenty, for the big paying gigs.

Gregg MacKenzie is a good player and a great guy. He moved here from the Boston area about a year ago.

Yeah i could hear two harps at once at times but i thought that must of been because of sloppy post editing
Lol

Greg fitted in well then.Great band and it is hard to believe that they are so young.
