Looks like Bloomfield is playing two silver face SR's. I see Paul is using his 545 mic. That looks like a SR w/ JBL's to Pauls right. What are the amps behind Paul? Are those black face SR's or Concerts maybe? Cool vid. Should be restored! Looks like Paul plays his harps upside down?...BN

I assume this is widely known and has been talked about here, but, ah: Buttefield plays the harp upside down, with the low notes to the right and with his right hand holding the harp. Mirror image of most players. Right?

I've never noticed this before, which is why I'm noting it with surprise here.

edited to add: Yes, Barley, you and I are seeing the same thing. I went to the video and then comments before noticing that you'd seen this, too.

Well...I never knew Butterfield played and performed keyboard, in addition to his incredible vocals and harp!

As much as I love Butterfield, this was a pretty loose gig.

I agree with Slimharp. I am everything short of a Butterfield worshipper, but this is not an inspired performance by him or Bloomfield.

I agree Theo. He greatly impacted my life. I have seen some subsequent clips and some have been lackluster. He was dealing with a lot of issues later on.
To this day I dont think Paul has been given enough credit for what he did to open up the blues to the white middle class audiences. He should be honorably inducted to the R&R Hall of Fame.

PS - Michael Bloomfields 3 CD set " From his head - To his heart - To his Hands " will be released today. One of the CD's is a film documentary on his life. IMHO he was the finest modern blues guitarist ever. Many many people today dont know who he is ????
