Here's a sneak peak of my interview with Winslow Yerxa to release soon at BluesHarmonica.com. In this snippet Winslow helps new players with the technique of blow bending.

His blow bends sound great from the front of the mouth with the tension, but I prefer blow bending with jaw dropped and doing it from the throat.
Either way offers the pitch control he describes. What Winslow does not do is close the mouth to get blow bends. That's sort of cheating which makes it harder to nail the pitch, plus it thins the tone, plus it makes it much tougher to use the blow bend as a quick passing note.

Dave Barrett may want to consider a slightly different camera angle, as his rotating left foot looks kinda distractingly weird...
Aside from that, pretty lucid explanation. ---------- The Iceman

He used a three-camera setup. This is a preliminary edit; I'll pass your comment along. ---------- Winslow

HA! Mitch Kashmar at 9:10: "Now… are the blow notes on the top?" …like he wouldn't know that!
