Please help.

I have a 16 hole Suzuki Sirius, 2 Hohner 270's and a mess of diatonics. I do not need space for my bullet. I prefer where the harps are in foam, diatonics standing up. Hoping to spend $100 or so.
Thanks,
Michael Rubin

Michelle's a friend and they look beautiful, but I need to carry around 27 harps!

This is not exactly what you describe, but I have one and find it works for me.

The diatonics are not standing up. There is removable tray on the right so the diatonics are like a bunk bed. The chromatic slot would hold the 16 holer I think and the rest of the space could be customized with a foam insert to hold whatever didn't fit.

Michael, I have tried many different ways to carry many diatonics, as well as carrying 8 keyed chromatics. If I am playing a gig or recording I want backup diatonic harps in all keys as well as Low F and High G. I sometimes carry several Paddy Richter, Country Tuned, and Minor Harps, depending on the music I will be playing.

My solution is not a custom case as such. I didn't want to pay the premium prices for a good one. I finally started packing the diatonics in Seydel 12 harp belt bags, then putting the bags as modules into different larger bags or cases, depending upon my needs. The Seydel bags are made to hold 12 diatonics vertically, but they easily take two more harps, one at each end. The harps are protected from each other and stand vertically.

I sometimes use an old trumpet case that I gutted, or a pistol belt bag, or a pistol range case. I have used them all at different times, again depending on the need and how many harps I might want. The Seydel bags are easily moved to different cases, and the harps remain in order.

No affiliation, etc.

It is not a custom case, but it is efficient and inexpensive.

Michael - slimscustomcases.com is probably the best place to go. He makes harp specific custom cases to fit all your requirements. He fairly recently made one for Jason Ricci.

Another review of his work.

I think the case I got from harbor freight would fit the bill. Like 25 bucks.

The Slim cases are awesome, but they are not 100$.
I bought a case on amazon with pick and pluck foam and made a case that holds 3 bullets and 28 diatonics . It set me back 55 bucks.

This will work until I get a Slim case. I like my harps being held vertical rather than laying flat. I like the vertical in foam so if the case gets knocked over, the harps stay in the case.

I'm also a using Seydel belt bag and soft case, plus some additional improvised soft cases, to organize and carry some 30 harps, two chromatics, mic and cable, and misc., all in an old, black, aluminum adding machine case that is light weight, padded, compact and looks professional. Out of several arrangements that I have tried, all of which have been just fine, I'm liking my current set-up the best, for now. I also use a compact, folding black stool to set the case on, so my stuff is within easy reach. The only time there is a challenge with this arrangement, is if I need to use several harps in one song..ie:switching keys, or from a low harp to a middle range. Having everything ready to go is a must...
