Hi all, I'm still fairly new to Harmonica and have not yet experimented with gapping. I bought a new Special 20 A and it plays nicely except the 2 draw bend requires more force than on my other A harp (a Marine Band).
The bend lacks sensitivity - it requires a large adjustment of my embouchure and can only be played loud and raspy - not softly. In comparison, my Marine Band can play a nice gentle 2 bend with a more delicate movement of mouth position.
What would I need to do to correct this?
Many thanks Dan

If it is the gapping, then by the sounds of it you need to close the gaps in the 2 hole. Be aware that you will need to adjust both the draw reed and the blow reed. They interact with each other especially on the bends. The lower you go with a draw bend the more the blow reed comes in to play.
You will need to be very careful, make very small adjustments and keep testing to see how it's playing.
Have a look at these videos to see how it's done:

Gap two blow as tight as you can without choking it while playing. Hit the 2-5 blow octave hard to test that.
Then monkey with the 2 draw. Start with a wide gap and slowly lower and test, lower and test. ---------- Mike My Website

Finally started watching these videos-- Joe is the best--by which I mean to say--he's a nice guy and does great work, and I am grateful for his generosity!
