Did Lee Oskar have some crazy effects going on or could I just not hear him make sound until close to the end? I do have poor hearing, but it looked like he was getting at it and I couldn't hear him. I did see him ask to get turned up though.

So what's going on here? The audio does not seem to sync with what it looks like LO is playing though those are LO'ish sounds. Yet he seems to be having technical difficulties. Is his amp a Roland Jazz Chorus?

Yeh that was Oskar playing loud and clear I'm sure you heard it you just just did not realize that he uses a sound board like that. The sound sync was out by the time he started in the vid

I've always liked Lee Oskar's sound. It's original & unique for harp, approaches synthesizer and that he can get it without screaming feedback is inspiring.

Although Chris Cain didn't typically feature harp in his own band - I've had the luxury of playing with him, as has Aki Kumar. Chris was one of my first live blues influences - before I ever started to play harp. He's been around our area forever and he is very, very good at what he does, night after night. Super nice guy. He's based in Santa Cruz.

He is a MASTER of dynamics - he will take a tune down to nothing and build it back up over 128 bars - really wonderful. If you're not familiar with him check him out. Lots of great CD's to his name.

And I know I'm supposed to revere Lee Oskar but that synthesized sound just does nothing for me.

Greg, I agree with you re LO's sound but he has been and is a huge influence.

Never heard of Chris before, but I recognise him as a master, and would love to play with him. He is a very generous guitarist/leader

What a scene you must have there!!
