can anyone tell me, if the band was in Am, which minor harp would I need to play along?

If it's a Hohner, you'll want a Dm, If it's a LO, you'll want an Am. Same tuning they just name them differently.

A Hohner Dm harp is actually tuned to D Dorian Mode. This means that if you move a Fifth (i.e. Play like 2nd position; Root note 2 draw) then you'll be in Aeolian Mode (natural minor) If it's a Lee Oskar Am, it's Named for 2nd position. You can play all of your 2nd Position licks on a minor harp and they will instantly be converted to the parallel minor.

IMO No matter what key or tuning you are playing with, The naming of postions stays the same. It goes in Fifths. The cool thing about Nat Minor tuned harps is that 11th postion (tonic note #3 draw) is a full major scale. It's the relative major of your second position key.
