My stage when I am lucky enough to run a jam, is open to all comers. People put up with my bad habits early on and helped shepherd me in the right direction, it's the least I can do for new players and it's just courtesy to be open to folks you don't know. This has led on occasion to some "interesting" events but over all it's been a good thing.
