Recently I found that triplets sometimes sound funny with more rock-like grooves. They always work cool with shuffles it seems. So I did some revisiting 16th notes, and they seem to work pretty nicely with straight rock stuff.
Now in Adam's and Jason' vids, I notices how they use them intermixed. Sometimes in Jason's music I can't even say what he's doing exactly, as he seems to play with these.
Am I missing something? Is mixing them a good thing? Should I stick to 16th notes for a while? I feel I am missing something obvious?!

Mixing rhythms is fine - obviously you'll want to present the mixtures in a way that envelopes the groove and adds to the musical story line...
A good rule of thumb is to stay true to YOUR STYLE of music playing...
Inotherwords, mix them or use them when your gut tells you too - steer clear of using them randomly with no clear intention...
Use and mix them according to your feeling that they belong in the particlar spots were it feels right to add them.
If they add relevance to the tune, then knock yourself out :) ---------- The Centipide Saloon Tip Your Waiter Please

Sometimes 16th notes are swung. It's as if a group of four 16ths was two beats of shuffle (first and third parts of the triplet, played twice). ---------- Winslow
