---------- I would say it is because he found something to be passionate about and committed to, and then did all the work...not just the technical and the listening side, but also the personal growth that comes from all the affronts to pride and ego along the way.
Through that journey he found and mastered HIS voice and HIS unique thread, his contribution to the tapestry.

Why is is so kool? Because he used to smoke a pipe on stage, and play the Okie Dokie Stomp. The pipe was itself was so cool, he sold them after the show. I bought one from him the night he played Tramps, many years ago. The pipe is now a blues cherished blues token. ---------- Sun, sun, sun Burn, burn, burn Soon, soon, soon Moon, moon, moon

Why was he cool? He could play anything and excelled on several instruments. He was an inspiration to anyone who passed through Texas. He made some great records. He was an amazing entertainer.
