Hey guys,
so I got the vht. First real amp. Very cool stuff. Sound is killer, and it keeps up with a loud drummer too (in a rehearsalroom at least..)! So I'm very happy :) Got an Artec delay as well, and an ep booster is on the way.
It was only 'till after a couple of days that it dawned on me that the loud pop noise that came with operating the high-standby-low switch, might not be normal. Is was like a short bang, that wasn't influenced by the volume know or a mic being plugged in or not. So I called Thomann, just to check if this is normal, and they immediately took it back. New one's arriving tomorrow (hopefully).
I started reading some forums, and there are some reports about this problem with vht's, but not many. They all kept theirs..
As there are quite a bit of vht owners on this board, I thought I'd ask here: are you having the same bang going on? Should I have kept it?
Just sharing! The answer to this might help new purchasers that - like me - know squat about tubeamps :) On a sidenote: whatever the outcome: I'm very impressed by Thomann's customer service. The guy listened to my (perhaps stupid) question, and never tried to convince me that all was right (which I was actually hoping for and inclined to believe), and took it back. Now that's good CS.
Cheers all!
