Strange but true: my cover of Scott Joplin's "The Entertainer," from KICK AND STOMP, was #1 on the iTunes charts in Finland on June 24, 2012.

How do I know this? Because I've just stumbled across an amazing website called music-chart.info. Apparently it aggregates daily iTunes chart positions for every artist on iTunes. It doesn't have the US or the UK, although it does have Ireland, but it has a number of other countries, including most of the rest of Europe,Mexico, and New Zealand.

Here's what it found on yours truly:

Run a search on your favorite blues artists. Heck, run a search on Jason, Brendan, and Brandon.

I just ran a search on Brandon Bailey and found out that this chart does indeed aggregate the US iTunes charts. Our duet on "Superstition" reached #27 on the US iTunes chart one day back in 2011.

So run a search. I haven't yet plugged in the Claptons and Buddy Guys, but that should be interesting. Try Mitch Kashmar, Sugar Blue, Billy Branch. It's interesting to see which albums, which songs, break through.

Congrats! Really good fun to be #1 on any chart. On August 31 2001 I had a #1 on the MP3.com alt. country chart with my song, "Money and Fun". It only lasted 24 hours but hey, I still had a chart topper to my credit. I was really buzzed.

For a guy that gets more airplay and sales in Europe than my own backyard, that's pretty handy.

I was #122 last montn in Norway.

My highest chart appearance was in 2010 in Finland, which is cool for a song that was released 5 years before that.

However, none of this means sh!t if the check don't come and when it comes to royalties my last CD, released a little less than 2 years ago, is also my least productive.

Interesting thread... Did a search on myself and found that my most popular song overseas at least was a song with NO HARP! Go figure! Ha!

Most popular song (by highest chart position achieved): Annie (Position: 1 on the Austria Blues Music Chart on 6 October, 2011)

i am with RYAN though, at the end of the day it seems harder and harder to collect on the sales of songs or CD's... I may have another one in the works but without selling from the bandstand it really is hard to recoup the cost of making a decent album.
