This summer I replaced my 1966 Silvertone Twin Twelve with a new Mission Harp Amps Mission 32-20 with twin 10" speakers. It took kind of a long time to get it, and it was more than I ever thought of spending for an amp.
It's a corny saying, but it was worth the wait. Fantastic piece of equipment. Really catches the harp nuances I never knew I even had. And the tone control, even at low volumes in small gigs, is great. Makes me sound better, and inspires me to play more. What else can you ask for?
I've gigged it 5-6 times, and we usually play 3-4 hour sets, so the speakers are breaking in quite nicely. Last Saturday night one of my former bandmates, a keyboard player that has monster credentials, including stints with J.Geils, Bo Diddely, and Johnnie Johnson, came by our venue. It's not a huge room, but it's really deep, an old railroad station. The keyboardist was all the way out back. On our break he asked me right out of the gate, "What are you playing through? I explained the amp. He commented on the "fat" tone immediately, and asked, "You're not coming through the PA? I'm totally impressed." Additionally, the lead in our band, who's not inclined to give out praise very often, mentioned, "Dude, you are playing your ass off, and that amp is awesome."
Not that you guys are surprised by this information, but I wanted to let the players hear it from a Mission customer. If you're in the Boston, Massachusetts area let me know. I'm happy to let prospective buyers take the Mission for a whirl.

Congratulations on your purchase. Which two speakers did you end up going with?

Yep. 35 watts from a compact 35-pound amp, big tone, warm crunch. I think the Mission 32-20 is one of the best rigs for club gigs and jamming. It's my go-to amp.
