My 1962 Premier Twin-8 needs a new handle. Below is my amp. I want THAT handle:

I should clarify: My amp is identical to the one shown from above--it has round turtleshell knobs, not smaller red and black knobs--but the grill is maroon cloth, not gold metallic stuff.

I haven't order there but apparently others have and have been happy with the work. ---------- Purveyor of Optimized New and Refurbished Harmonicas.

I think Mojotone.com sell handles in that style. They are very similar looking to the leather handles Fender used on small tweed amps in the 50's. An ebay search for "leather amp handle" also brings up a number of items which may be suitable.

Adam, that looks like a common after-market amp handle.

try ElDorado
He makes real fine 'tweed' type handles. Absolutely nothing like the lousy chinese versions...

Adam, check out this guy. He does custom high quality american made leather handles at a reasonable price. It will do your amp justice.
Swoermer..just noticed you named the same seller.
I can tell you I ordered one, it is very well made, handsome and substantial...not like the mass market cheap leather handles. I can assure you.

The Premier handles of that era where typically thicker in the center and tapered down to flat on the ends. If I remember correctly, there shorter than Fender style, but its not a big deal, they stick up higher off the amp.. Sending your original to a leather guy to copy is a good option.

Thanks for the many suggestions, folks. Now my next problem: the amp has the original handle--it's torn in half at the bracket--and the original bracket is riveted to the amp.
What is the best way of removing a riveted handle bracket from a Premier Twin-8?

Adam, you may want to consider keeping the handle brackets intact and getting a custom made handle (the kind that looks like an arrowhead on each end) and then thread each end into the bracket. Just a though..haven't tried it but it may work and keep the brackets and rivets intact. http://brookwoodleather.com/yahoo_site_admin/assets/images/IMG_2198.12113401_std.JPG
