Got to sit in at a friend's gig last week. Great fun, got a little back and forth going. A little awkward at first, but worked out pretty well. I'd be happy to hear from y'all how to make that part especially work better. It was hard to tell where he was going with this.
The harp starts around 3:00.
ps. Yes, it was a Halloween gig. Johnny doesn't normally look like that.

Dancing Ben is indeed a bit of a pain .. but I wonder, do you have some kind of chorus going? Or is that the recording?
If so I´d suggest to turn it off; it takes clarity from the harmonica sound.

Yeah, I'm with Martin. Whatever effect that was didn't work so well for that tune.
I know it's never easy in a run and gun situation like this. You just get up there and try to fit in and nerves can make a big difference.
The only other thing I would say is that your playing sounded really "majory". Work on your bend intonation and note choice. I would suggest playing the major pentatonic in 2nd position making sure to EXCLUDE 4 draw bend.

thanks for the tips. will give pentatonic a try, but gonna be hard to break the 4 draw bend habit. all the more reason to do so.
