Today I used this Australian vintage amp.
I think Goldentone was based in Melbourne. The Bassmaster was a big amp like a bassman. I think they were made in a few different power ratings. 40 and 60 watt I think, maybe lower also. I'm really not sure what power this one is. It's loud though. Looks like it's probably a 410 but the speaker section was sealed. It's a TV type cab, with screw-in legs. Inputs labelled 'bass' and 'rhythm'. Dunno what the valves are. The bottles have a peculiar shape. Not my amp so I didn't dig around much; just plugged in and played.
Anyway I think it is a pretty cool unit for the harp. Needs some work I think and there's no standby, but it sounds nice. I played 2 hours and only realised as I packed up that I'd not used any effects. No reverb, no delay...just a nice amp sound.
Aussies might know. Anyone have experience with it? I think it's probably about 1964/5 model. I'm thinking of trying to acquire it.
