I m building a replacement cab for one of my amps, and I was wondering if I should drill the holes for the handle and the speaker baffle ( gonna make removable baffle) before the tolex goes on and then cut the holes out after for the bolts? I was thinking for the baffle staple around the mounting holes then cut the hole out with razor. This is my first time making a cab

What type of joinery are you going to use?
You need to cut the baffle to size, cut hole, installl speaker mounting hardware and install grill cloth. Make sure you paint the front facing part of the baffle flat black before you install the grill cloth.
After you tolex the amp, install the finished baffle. You may be able to mount the speaker after you mount the baffle, you may not? Drilll the holes for the handle after the tolex is installed.
It's a very time consuming project. For what you will spend on materials and the time involved, you can almost pay for one that is ready to go. I no longer build them, I buy un finished cabs from seller sorrycharley on ebay. I Duratex the cab, install a grill cloth and its done.

Got it , thanks man. The cab is actually for a danelectro amp with a split chasis. So it prob would have to be some what of a custom/expensive job, I saw one site that does replica silvertone cabs but over $300. More than I wanted to spend. So far I'm in about $60 , I got the cab built just waiting on tolex and grill cloth . I'll post pics when I get finished hopefully it comes by sat so I can get it done this weekend. It's not perfect but I think it'll do the job.
