No trip to Trossingen for me this year, but my going to see Carlos Del Junco tomorrow in Kingston will take some of the sting away from that.

Too much hubbub there in Trossingen anyway, on competition years......
That's what I keep telling myself.

Check it out, worth a drive for those close enough!
I'm in Ottawa, three hours or so away, got my tickets already, first time seeing him play.

Caught him in a small club in London, ON. Had front row seats, he was his using his small venue line up of Upright Bass, Acoustic Guitar and of course Carlos on Harp. Great players, great show. Talked to him briefly after the show, had him sign a GM case for me. I'll likely try and catch him again the next time he's in the area, Kingston's a bit far.

Oh man, such a nice show. Carlos was funny and animated, he played harp like a house on fire, great dynamics, and range of tone. Accompaniment of acoustic guitar and bass fiddle sounded great, yes the sound....very nice, loud enough and very clear. What joy it was to be there in the second row.

Worth the more than two hours drive any day.

@larry, sorry didn't see your post before leaving......Frank Scanga also asked me to say hello......chatted with Andy nice to catch up.
Didn't talk with Carlos, he was pretty busy, but instead bought Tshirt and cd

Fun fun fun

Frank Scanga is part of the core group of the legendary Howard Levy Augusta Heritage Week Long Workshop in the 90's.

He was dubbed "Skankin' Frank" at this seminar.

Heard he took up sax and is a pretty good player these days.
