Hi everyone,

I've just rigged up a pedal board and got two effects that most players would ignore. Noise gate and compressor.

No feedback courtesy of an MXR Noise Clamp, and even and full sound with the MXR Dyna Comp.

Its like someone has taken my tone and given it steroids. I guess it because I'm getting old and realising its better to fix what's wrong with my sound rather than add fuel to the fire with those flashy pedals like chorus and delay etc.

Try them. I know they don't seem to do anything, but trust me, they're awesome.

Dyna Comp is just great! Months ago a friend borrowed me one for a few gigs and it improved completely the definition of the average harmonica sound to a sweet clear tone. It was like turning from an old 90s TV to a 2013's LCD high definition screen. And it also worked great as a feedback killer.

Do you directly to the board after the MXR? Or does it have to be an amp involved for it to get interesting?
