Hello, I'm wondering if you guys use very different reed arcs for blow, and draw reed in same hole. If so, a short explanation of what and why. If not, then perhaps your thoughts on the subject.
I've been arcing blow reeds 1to 6, as Winslow recommends in his book (parallel to reed plate roughly halfway then a gentle arc). While keeping the draw reeds mostly straight (not recommended by Winslow) so that tip, or as much as one third of free end enters slot first.
I've found a pretty happy medium with this approach, improving the: playing feel, responsiveness, and propensity to choke. I've been able to tame the three hole bends wonderfully, so that they are very stable.
Whadya say?

Sherwin the dynamic strategy explained in other threads is a better one for both blow and draw. How the profile looks at rest follows that. I really think it's great that you're thinking out of the box though. That's how you can make some pretty cool discoveries by accident. ----------
