Not much information around for this amplifier. It was made in Montreal in the early 60s; it is a Symphonic MA8. I bought it recently hoping it would be useable. Got it home and it played...sort of, for a few minutes then died. Found a repair tech to look at it and now it plays nice. Not easy to find anyone who can repair tube electronics locally. With some new tubes, a capacitor and new cord the repair work was about $100
Anyone familiar with this amp. Is its design similar to any more common amps? Can you tell how many watts by tubes?
Tubes are 6BF6, 6AT6, 6V6GT, 5Y3, tremolo 6AT6

I thought I would bump this once to see if anyone had any comments on this amp. So far this is my best harp amp.

a Champ is 6 watts. This amp won't be any more than that for sure.

I thought it was probably about 5 watts but didn't have much to compare to. ---------- MBH member since 2009-03-24

I'll bet it's punchy. Look at the big filters in that puppy. I would suggest replaceing those. Sweet...BN
